A New Addition to Stitch Upon a Time!

jennifer sewing

jennifer sewingWelcome sewing geeks, sewing novices and those who are just passing by! If you don’t recognize the name Stitch Upon a Time, you might have been hanging out under a rock! Or rather a large pile of fabric, we know how those projects can build up! Either way, we’re glad you’re here! If you’re not new to the name, you may be wondering “Why the blog? Things are great as they are.” We want things to be a little more personal, to give you a deeper look into what goes on, and a better way for us to connect with you all.

My name is Lakota and I’m a long time friend of Jennifer’s, who is also known as the “Oz” behind the sewing curtain. She is who has shown you that you already had what it takes to get where you need, you just needed a little guidance! Whether that guidance is a pattern to express yourself, a general sewing question, or a sew along, Jennifer has been by your side! Hey, and maybe you made some great friends along the way in the Facebook chat.

My role is being “The voice for the business” on this blog, no pressure right?! In being the voice, I, rather this blog, will be the StitchUponaTime.com go-to for so many things! Sales, who doesn’t love a discount?! Need free sewing tutorials? General sewing and SUAT sewing tutorials will be featured here!  Love the interaction of a sew along? Fear not, it will be here! Not sure what serger/machine to get? We’ll feature sewing equipment reviews! Oh! And I’m sure you guys love to get free stuff? So you guessed it, there will be giveaways, big ones, small ones, and gigantic ones!  The most important thing you will find here, pattern releases! And because we know and understand that deep longing for the next pattern release, Jennifer and I will keep you busy in between time with general life and mommy posts.

Now, it would be horrible for me to mention giveaways and then not let you get a little taste, right?! So our first one will be included in this post, and the prize, a free Stitch Upon A Time pattern of your choosing. Not only is that an awesome giveaway but Friday (7/3/2015), will be the next pattern release and a multiple winner giveaway that may or may not feature a serger as a grand prize! So keep an eye on us and if you’re from the Facebook group, it’s ok to make the transition in full or participate in both the Facebook and here!

The scrundies and boxer wear are great and so customizable, the brazi dress is so flattering and comfy, the spoxxy top is great to work out in or wear every day, all of the kids items are fun to sew up… I could go on and on! I can’t wait to finish our move so I can make a bunch of Artemis tops and dresses for my girls!!

I’m not sure where to leave a comment for the giveaway, but I just wanted to say Hi! I’m new to sewing/serging and SUAT! So far the journey has been fun, rewarding, and addicting. Out of all of the groups I’m in, SUAT, is hands down my favorite (seriously). So far, for myself, I have loved the popular Brazi dress. For my daughter, I really like the look of the Artemis dress and tank, they’re so much fun! I want to give a big thank you to Jennifer and Lakota for making SUAT the amazing group it is.

    • Lakota says:

Awe, such genuine words! SUAT works very hard to maintain a positive and friendly environment but you amazing fans are what makes the community so unique! We’re glad you feel at home here!

  13. Karen Frost says:

  19. Katie Layne says:

I love all of the patterns I’ve gotten so far, but I’d say my favorite is a tie between the Brazi and the boxerwear. Love that my husband loves the boxerwear so much that he’s ditching his tidy whities for them!

  20. stephanie says:

I’ve only ordered the men and women’s boxerwear. I’m having trouble finding my fabric but can’t wait to sew these up. Next on my list is Spoxxy, Scrundlewear, and Brazi.

  21. Nina says:

I’m fairly new to all these wonderful sewing communities, but so far I’m loving it! Can’t wait to see what’s in store with SUAT! 🙂

  22. Melanie says:

I’m totally in love with Scrundies! Can’t wait to make myself a Brazi, but I’m afraid of wasting expensive knit and haven’t tried yet. Love your patterns!!

  23. Laura Butler says:

I just can’t decide which pattern is my favorite. Brazi, scrundies and women’s boxer wear are the ones I’ve made so far but i also have the flora pattern waiting for some inspiring fabric! I think I’d have to say the brazi is my fab because i never find bras that fit right for a good price.

  24. Nicole J says:

I can’t wait to make a Brazi for myself. I’m so excited about your new website. Scrundies will be another one I would love to make. You have awesome patterns.

I am so glad I stumbled across the scrundies pattern on etsy. My love of sewing has been reignited. I have most of the SUAT patterns now and I have to say I will be a fan for life. Thankyou.

  27. Tabitha H says:

No way I can choose a favorite! Each one joins my list for favorites the first time I sew them up. First was scrundlewear, then the flora, then Archer/Artemis. Can’t wait to make a bunch of spoxxy’s (I’ve had plans to do so for a while) and I’ve got a brazi cut out but I’ve been procrastinating on that because I’m terrified of sewing the bra cups…don’t ask me why. Oh, and my poor husband has been waiting for his boxerwear for a while but I’m too busy with selfish sewing, lol. Bring on the patterns!!

  28. Tracey says:

    SUAT are great
im not a fan of sewing with knit but the scrundleware pattern made it easy and i love the beanstalk britches
