About:
The Sorting Baskets pattern is such a fun beginner pattern to make. The sorting baskets are awesome for organizing anything from hair ties and bobby pins to legos, video game controllers, and everything in between.
This pattern comes with a full video tutorial and that can be found at this link.
Difficulty: Advanced Beginner
Techniques Involved: sewing with layers, sewing with fusible interfacing, sewing corners, creating a fully lined object, topstitching.
All files are PDF files that can be printed at home on Letter or A4 sized paper. You can also opt to not print. Each basket is made with 4 fabric squares. The corner notches are 1/4 the length of the square. This means the baskets can be made in ANY size using the provided video tutorial and not just the sizes provided in the 1-page printable PDF file.
Suggested Fabric:
The Sorting Baskets require 1/3 yd of fabric for 10″ box and a fat quarter of fabric per 8″ or 6″ box. You will also need medium weight interfacing in 1/2 the amount of fabric you are using for your box.
Additional Supplies:
- Pins or Clips
- Tape Measure
- Paper & Fabric Scissors
- Rotary Cutter, Mat, and Acrylic Ruler (optional but encouraged)
- Matching All-Purpose Thread
- Universal Needle
- Sewing Machine
