About:
The easiest and breeziest pants or shorts you will ever own, the Baby and Kids Sweetpea Pea pants come with FOUR lengths. These comfy pants can take you to a dressier occasion if you’d rather not wear a dress or skirt, to the beach in warm weather to provide some sun protection, to school, to the grocery store, and literally anything else.

Difficulty: Beginner to Confident Beginner
Techniques Involved: Hemming, Adding an Elastic Waistband ,Adding Patch Pockets, Creating a Flat-Front Waistband, Topstitching, Adding Side-Seam Pockets.
All files are PDF files that can be printed at home on Letter or A4 sized paper. Each pattern includes one file for the pattern and print-at-home pieces, and another file containing the copy shop A0 (33.1″ wide) pattern pieces. We’ve placed the pattern pieces on individual layers so you can print only the size(s) you need, saving you on paper and ink. This pattern also comes with a projector file for use with a projector in your home.
Fabric: You will want a woven fabric with great drape for this pattern. Less drape will create stiffer pants or shorts that have a puffier wear. Fabrics such as Rayon Chalis, double gauze, Wool Dobby, Chambray, woven Lyocel denim blends, as well as other woven rayon blends will work well for this pattern.
Notions: You will need 2” elastic for this pattern. You CAN use 1” elastic and double it up, but 2” elastic will be much easier to work with and create a nicer waistband that is less likely to roll.
Additional Supplies:
- Pins or Clips
- Tape Measure
- Tape or Glue (for piecing pages together)
- Paper & Fabric Scissors
- Rotary Cutter, Mat, and Acrylic Ruler (optional but encouraged)
- Matching All-Purpose Thread
- Universal Needle
- Sewing Machine with zig-zag stitch, Serger recommended.
- Iron & Ironing Board
- Fabric marking tool
- Safety pin or bodkin
- Seam Ripper
