About: The Piscean pants includes many options for you to sew pants and shorts in multiple styles to fit a child’s wardrobe and your time schedule. There are three lengths included: thigh-length, knee-length, and pant-length. You can choose between two waistband styles: paperbag waistband which has 5/8” of fabric above the elastic to look like a ruffle, and the regular waistband. Both waistbands have a channel for 1” wide elastic. You can choose to add front and/or back pockets to your pants. The back pockets are rectangular patch pockets and the front pockets have a rounded diagonal opening and are topstitched to the front of the pants. Additionally, you could add a Faux Fly and Faux Drawstring.
Difficulty: Advanced Beginner
Techniques Involved: Basting, finishing raw edges, stitching in the ditch, inserting and sewing elastic, edge stitching, hemming, optional techniques: sewing patch pockets (back pockets), sewing front pockets, sewing and topstitching a faux fly, sewing buttonholes or inserting eyelets.

Absolutely love these pants. They fit my daughter perfectly, are incredibly comfy, work with the adorable quilting cotton, and, my favorite, have well written directions. My daughter’s favorite pants.

I like this pattern very much! I love that it’s for woven fabrics. It gets really hot here in Texas in the summer, and woven shorts are perfect. I made a pair for my daughter from faux suade, that she can wear this spring. They fit great.

This pattern makes me wonder how I thought other pants fit my kid before! Easy to grade between sizes, measurements are spot on. Directions are easy to follow, and the techniques described help create a smooth garment without bulk. The rise in the back keeps my little one’s tush covered when he’s climbing slides, and this is the first faux fly I’ve made that I actually like how it looks! Thank you for a great pattern!
