Techniques Involved: Adding buttons and buttonholes or snaps, turning right side out through a turning hole, and topstitching. And optionally: inserting a drawstring, sewing in the ditch, and creating welt pockets.
All files are PDF files that can be printed at home on Letter or A4 sized paper. Each pattern includes one file for the pattern and print-at-home pieces, and another file containing the copy shop A0 (33.1″ wide) pattern pieces. We’ve placed the pattern pieces on individual layers so you can print only the size(s) you need, saving you on paper and ink.
Knit or woven fabrics are both acceptable for the outer and lining of this pattern, however a medium to heavy weight is preferred. If you choose to use a lightweight fabric then you will need to add interfacing to the wrong side of the outer Cape piece, over the snap/button placement. Preferred fabrics are polyester fleece, wool, french terry, and cotton sweatshirt knit. For the pockets, a woven fabric of natural material is recommended for ease of pressing. Quilting weight cotton is perfect for the pockets.
