About:
The Frisky Knickers is unlike any other underwear pattern! It has a fit that’s in-between our other two women’s brief underwear patterns, Scrundlewear 2.0 and Bunzies, and it includes two completely new styles that are a little…frisky! If you’d like to see a comparison of the fit between the three brief patterns we carry, download this file > Underwear Fit Comparison And then follow the instructions below.
1- First you’ll download the pattern. Click on the link and if it doesn’t download automatically just press control+s (command+s on mac) to save.
2- Open the file in the most up-to-date version of Adobe Reader (which is free, just google “free adobe reader”)
3- Click on the ‘layers’ tab on the left and then turn on/off the layers to compare the fit.
4- If you don’t see the layers function- check that you are in the most up-to-date version of adobe reader. If you are, go to View>Show/Hide>Navigation Panes>Layers
Aside from the new fit, this pattern includes two adorable cut-out options. See photos above.
Difficulty: Advanced Beginner
Techniques Involved: Sewing knit fabric, topstitching, sewing elastic (View A & B, optional), knit binding (View A, optional), quartering knit bands and leg/waist openings.
All files are PDF files that can be printed at home on Letter or A4 sized paper. Each pattern includes one file for the pattern and print-at-home pieces, and another file containing the copy shop A0 (33.1″ wide) pattern pieces. We’ve placed the pattern pieces on individual layers so you can print only the size(s) you need, saving you on paper and ink.
This pattern is designed for light to medium weight knit fabrics and requires at least 50% crosswise stretch with 5% lycra/spandex in the fabric content. For a beginner sewist, I recommend starting with View C and using a medium to heavy weight knit as they’re easier to work with.

SUAT undies are always great – but the frisky knickers are just so cool. I love all the options, and the fun cut outs. My hubby and I are mostly fan of the back cut out, it is fun to do, and looks great, and hubby loves it because he can pull the elastic 😉
The basic knicker is an easy sew, the cutouts are also fairly easy to do, once you get your head around it, and as always, the SUAT designers have made great detailed descriptions and photos of all the steps.

I absolutely love my frisky knickers! They are quick and easy to make, super comfortable while still having the options to be a little sexy. A very quick sew with great detailed directions, first time sewing with elastic and they turned out amazing!

Finally found a pair that requires no alterations for me. I just love the fit of these! The decorative side and back were a fun way to spice it up.

Another fantastic underwear pattern from SUAT. The frisky knickers come with fun options for strappy sides or a sexy back cutout. They sew up very quick and are super comfortable. As with all SUAT patterns, the instructions are clear and easy to understand.

I love a quick sew that is easy, takes barely any fabric, and has a HUGE satisfaction factor at the end! There were no fit issues, no annoying fiddling, and I can use scraps from other projects to make adorable detailed undies to match my outfits!

I love this new addition to the panty patterns I have from here, once again they’re a perfect comfortable fit everytime but I love having the fun cut out options for when I want to make something a little extra! Underwear are such a fun and rewarding item to sew, they are quick and take minimal fabric. As always the instructions are very clear and easy to follow!

Another great panty pattern from SUAT! Elastic is my favorite so I was excited for this new pattern, although bands are still an option along with many others, including different views! Great instructions and a good use for scraps!

You will not be disappointed with these fun undies. I hadn’t used elastic before and it worked great and gives a little different look. Expect a great fit.

I cannot make heads nor tails of this pattern. It has excellent instructions, but the pattern itself is crazy confusing without enough labels. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️

This pattern style is between the other undies here. I usually go for hi-cut/ french cut and these fit closer to that than boyshort/brief
I was a bit nervous about wasting pretty fabric or messing up with the serger, but my first pair turned out pretty darn nice! Much easier than I expected.
I will make slight alterations like curving up the rear waistband but keeping regular rise in the front, and making the leg bands more narrow.
It’s really nice that the liner is longer and covers further to the front, instead of stopping short and rubbing. Other undies out there have seams at the front and back crotch, but that just doesn’t fit as well & is bulky.
